Senior Lawyer | Commercial Litigation (3 years + PAE)

The role

We are seeking a full-time senior civil litigator to join our litigation team. Working closely with Partners and Senior Associates, you will act for a range of corporate and individual clients across many areas of civil litigation, including corporate/contractual disputes, defamation, building disputes and insolvency matters. There may also be opportunities to work across other areas of the business, including criminal, conveyancing and employment law.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Attending court
  • Attending mediations and settlement conferences
  • Drafting court documents
  • Being attentive to our valued clients
  • Preparing correspondence and briefs to counsel
  • Running interlocutory applications
  • Running hearings
  • Working with some of Australia’s best barristers
  • Managing your team

Your experience

A minimum of three years’ experience in commercial litigation is essential. You must demonstrate strong analytical and strategic skills, good drafting and attention to detail, and be able to work autonomously within a fast-paced, busy law firm. A good sense of humour and a robust disposition is highly valued. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Paralegal | Criminal Law | Law Student

 The Role
We are seeking a part-time paralegal to join our criminal team.  Supporting a team of legal professionals, the position involves a variety of interesting work and the opportunity to contribute to developing this busy practice.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and filing of court documents
  • Assisting with subpoenas
  • Preparing detailed briefs to Counsel, including in-depth legal analysis of criminal issues
  • Liaising with clients and witnesses
  • Conducting searches and investigations
  • Administration duties as required, such as filing, couriering, photocopying and file retrieval
  • Other administrative tasks as required

Your Experience
Legal experience will be highly regarded, particularly in criminal law.

You must be a law student, with advanced MS Office skills along with a sound understanding of litigation procedures.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 3 days a week, be a law student and possess a strong interest in criminal law.
