Do not eat the poisonous donut
Like most people, I love a little sweet treat. That said, my appetite for sweet treats has been somewhat stifled (perhaps thankfully now that it’s warmed up and the winter clothes are in the back of the closet) after I indulged in a salted caramel donut from Mrs Kim’s Donuts 2 weekends ago. On the Saturday almost everyone in my household had a little taste of the very delicious donuts and by Sunday, we all suffered the consequence of what was now clearly a food poisoning event.
5 of us ended up very unwell, ranging from migraines and vomiting to vomiting, nausea, fatigue and something I won’t mention on the blog. It was a very long few days in my household and our poor washing machine got a very big workout thanks to my 5 year old who never seems to find the bucket or the toilet bowl.
Why am I regaling you with tales of our weekend woes? Because I think there’s quite a few of you out there who might have been affected and we might be able to do something about it. I really feel for the vendors of the business, I am sure this dreadful event is not of their making and I hope they can recover from this. For mine, the donut I tried was one of the best I’ve eaten and I really do hope they can get back up and running and that people give them a second chance.
That said, the vendors will have an insurer, and it would be the insurer that we would explore pursuing for compensation for anyone affected. If you were affected, please give us a call on (02) 6279 4222 and we can talk about your options for pursuing compensation.
