Ben Aulich – an update from our Managing Partner

On Monday I appeared on behalf of my colleague Ben Aulich in the ACT Magistrates Court regarding an application by the prosecution to amend the charge made against Ben in late 2020.

When the charge was laid, Ben was accused of a conspiracy involving a former colleague who has since had all charges against her dropped.

The charge against Ben has also changed considerably since then, and it was our strongly held view that the prosecution should lay a fresh charge, rather than simply amend the existing charge, for Ben to have a fair legal process. The court granted the prosecution’s application for an amendment.

The prosecution’s longstanding application to have Ben’s matter moved from the ACT Magistrates Court to the ACT Supreme Court has been listed for hearing on 26 August 2022, and we will continue to keep you, our valued clients, updated.

We thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to deliver outstanding legal services to the Canberra community.
