Ben Aulich – an update from our Managing Partner

I appeared on behalf of Ben Aulich yesterday in the ACT Magistrates Court for a mention of his matter. We have requested on several occasions the disclosure of information used by the AFP to obtain an authority to conduct a Controlled Operation, but this still has not been provided.

In the interests of Ben being able to adequately and fairly defend himself against the remaining charges, we have now issued a subpoena to the AFP to compel the disclosure of this material.

The AFP has advised it will seek to have the subpoena set aside and, due to backlogs in the Magistrates Court, a hearing on the subpoena has been listed for February 2022.

The substantive matter cannot progress until this issue is resolved.

In the meantime, it remains business as usual at Aulich as we continue to provide our valued clients with outstanding legal services.
